Amman Board ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website ammanboard.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use our platform, in compliance with the Personal Data Protection Law of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Electronic Transactions Law No. 15 of 2015.

  • Legal obligation: Processing required to comply with applicable Jordanian laws and regulations

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account information: When you register, we collect your business name, business type, owner name, email address, phone number, location, and optional Instagram/website link
  • Verification data: If you apply for business verification, we collect your business registration number, operating years, employee count, business description, opportunity types, and an optional business photo
  • Listing data: When you post opportunities, we collect the listing title, description, category, contact details, and location
  • Communication data: Messages sent through our platform between users, connection requests, and notification records
  • Usage data: We automatically collect information about how you access and use the website, including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, time spent on pages, and referring URLs
  • Cookies: We use cookies and similar technologies to improve your experience. See Section 6 for details

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Create and manage your account on the Platform
  • Display your business listing on the Amman Board platform
  • Process and review business verification applications
  • Review and moderate submitted opportunities
  • Facilitate messaging and connection requests between users
  • Send notifications about your account, listings, and connections
  • Communicate with you about your listings and account
  • Improve and maintain the platform
  • Analyze usage trends and site performance
  • Prevent spam, fraud, and abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations under Jordanian law

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure

Your approved business listing information (business name, opportunity details, category, and location) is publicly visible on the platform. This is the core function of Amman Board.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share information with:

  • Service providers: Third-party services that help us operate the platform (hosting via Supabase, serverless functions via Netlify, AI features via Google Gemini). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data
  • Other users: Your business profile information is shared with users who view your listings or connect with you through the platform
  • Legal requirements: When required by law, regulation, court order, or lawful request by Jordanian authorities, including the Consumer Protection Directorate and law enforcement agencies

5. Data Retention

In accordance with Jordanian data protection principles:

  • Account data: Retained for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, personal data is removed within 30 days
  • Listing data: Retained for as long as your listing is active. Removed or anonymized upon deletion
  • Communication data: Messages are retained for the duration of your account. Users may delete individual conversations
  • Usage and analytics data: Retained in anonymized form for up to 24 months for analytics purposes
  • Legal compliance data: Certain records may be retained longer as required by Jordanian law, including the Electronic Transactions Law

6. Cookies

We use the following types of cookies:

  • Essential cookies: Required for basic site functionality, authentication, and security. These cannot be disabled
  • Preference cookies: Remember your cookie consent choice and other preferences
  • Analytics cookies: Help us understand how visitors interact with the website so we can improve the user experience

Your data may be processed on servers located outside of Jordan (through our hosting and service providers). We ensure that any cross-border data transfers comply with Jordanian data protection requirements and that adequate safeguards are in place to protect your information.

10. Children's Privacy

Amman Board is a business platform and is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If we discover that a minor has provided personal data, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We will make reasonable efforts to notify registered users of material changes. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
